Some very cute pics from 4th of July. We had a great time at D.P. hanging with family. Of course, I am looking at these pictures still not able to believe how big these kids are getting! Maya and Gabriel both cut their first teeth on the 4th (why wouldn't they - parallel cousins). Maya has since cut 2 more!! She is also walking ALL OVER THE PLACE, can't slow this girl down. It was really a great weekend, one of those that will go down in the books.

Today we are off to grout the slate...ahhh...romance. Ups and downs, workations and vacations, love and our baby, real life...sometimes messy but always worth it! I wouldn't have it any other way with anybody else. I love you, CTH!

For Mother's Day Maya got her maiden voyage on Grampy's boat. It was perfect. After doing some swimming and eating a cuban, she passed out in the beach tent. My favorite is the mini beach chair she is sitting in. Ahhhh...summer....beach....boating...baby...I'm in heaven!!
We headed to Northport for Poppy's B-day. It has taken me forever to get these pics uploaded, but well worth the wait. Maya had so much fun playing and swimming with her cousins Kelsey & Trent. How cute is that bikini??? She also had her first taste at Mimi's biscuits and fell in love. She is the third generation Hyche baby to chow down in that highchair. It was a great weekend!
Such an occasion deserves its own post...announcing the newly engaged! :) I am so glad Pete passed the interview and accepted the job offer. We warned him about the stipulation of the offer...this family is a PACKAGE DEAL. I am so glad we didn't scare the poor guy away.
Some of you may know that I gave up fast food as my new year's resolution. Well, 3 months and 20 days in, I am still holding strong. However, when Grammy and Grampy asked to take Maya to McD's on Saturday with her cousins I couldn't refuse. So Tia Sarah went along and introduced Maya to FRENCH FRIES!!! It was love at first taste. *****Notice that sparkle on Tia Sarah's left hand??? YEP, she's getting hitched! CONGRATS SARAH & PETE!!*****

St. Paddy's Day
Yesterday was another beautiful spring day in the Panhandle, so we headed back to the beach. This time Chris got in on the fun. He even went swimming, the water was "warm" to him at 65 degrees. YIKES! Maya and I stuck to dipping toes only. The Hyches are definitely taking advantage of this warm spring weather.
Maya and some of her friends had a play date at the beach today. I can't believe she actually wore those sun glasses. Don't they make her look oh so cool? She might even like them because she left them on her head and did not try to eat them. As you can see in pic #1...she is full on crawling since yesterday. She was on the move today - LOVING the sand and even dipped her toes in the water. Pic #3 is Maya and her pal Melia - they are totally posing pretty for the camera!!
Maya got a little quality time with her parallel cuz today. She was enthralled with him, and he even smiled at her a little bit. What cutie pies we have on our hands!

This weekend Memaw, Poppy & Mimi came down from Alabama to spend the weekend with us. Don't be fooled by Maya's face in the pic above, she had an awesome time. Memaw, Maya and I went and watched Chris' softball game on Saturday. She did lots of playing and "almost" crawling. When they left on Sunday, they headed back to SNOW in Tuscaloosa!! We miss them already.
Last week the King & Queen of Spain visited Pensacola in celebration of the City's 450th anniversary. Chris, Maya & I went to see them speak. We even saw someone waving an Andalucia flag. While we were there, we met up with Tia Abuela Clara. It was a fun afternoon in downtown Pensacola. Afterwards we hit up Surf Burger and Maya sat in a highchair! No burger for her yet...but she was eyeing mine.
So this is what you get when your baby's favorite food is prunes. Look at that face...FUN! We are making a mess and loving it. Needless to say our laundry load has been increased with Maya's progression into solids. So far she has been eating fruit, fruit, fruit (pears, apples, peaches, prunes). Chris and I set up the baby food factory last week and made all of her food (organic, too!). She loves prunes, hates pears. We have yet to try blueberries, but they are on the list. She's getting big so fast.
The first of many cousin pictures to come. We all got together on Sunday for Jesse's Birthday. (Happy Birthday Jesse!) I thought it would be a lot harder than it was to get them all together to take a pic, but actually they cooperated pretty well. I especially like the one where Sammy & Maya are gazing into each other's eyes and ignoring Baby Gabriel...hope that isn't a sign of things to come. Don't you just love cousins??
